TOP 100 BENGALI BOOKS OF ALL TIME SERIES
Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo and David Walliams are all great writers who didn’t make it into our final 100. It is a leading website of top selling books from the best publishers, authors, editors, series etc. To me, accuracy when making a Top 10/Top 100 all time list is extremely important. In 2004, BBCs Bengali Service conducted the opinion poll with the title Greatest Bengali of all time started from February 11 continued onto March 22. Our list is based more on passion than science and it’s worth pointing out that there are some writers who are so prolific that their votes were split across their repertoire. Soon after the completion of 100 Greatest Britons poll in 2002, BBC organized a similar opinion poll to find out who is the greatest Bengali personality in Bengali nations history of thousand years. Special thanks go to the writers and artists creating brilliant books who took the time to nominate their favourites – Charlie Higson, Sophie Kinsella, Terry Deary, Cressida Cowell and Chris Riddell. The fiction, nonfiction and poetry that deepened our understanding, ignited our curiosity and helped us escape. We invited the Time Out team, staff at London’s best children’s bookshops and many contemporary authors and illustrators to name their ten best children’s books.
